About Millie Black
Millie Black is a painter and textile artist living and working on Ngunnawal and Ngambri Country.
Her current practice-led research explores our connection to nature through the atmosphere and the ground. Working predominantly in oils and earth pigments, her painting background informs the direction of her textile pieces.
Millie brings to light landscapes both near and far, highlighting them as places to protect, care for, and be part of. Through painting and weaving, her work reflects on the sublimity of these places and our relationship with them, inviting us to rethink our place within the wilderness.
