Louise Knowles
SOLO EXHIBITION
'SKY'

Location | Studio Gallery, 7D Wandoo Street, Fortitude Valley
Exhibition | September 12th – September 26th
The sky speaks in moods. It shifts from light to shadow, storm to stillness, each change a whisper of feeling, a breath of memory. It is a vast and luminous mirror, holding space for joy, sorrow, and everything in between.
As an abstract painter, I look to the sky, an everyday miracle, as a guide to capturing fleeting moments of the heart. It is gentle and fierce, a canvas of beauty and unpredictability, much like the emotional tides we ride.

The sky, like me, is uncontained but capable of being shaped. An open field for thought, for dreaming, yet always catching the light, the flicker of colour, the hush of movement, those rare, meaningful flashes that tether us to something real. In my work, light, colour, and shadow are not just elements of form - they are metaphors. They hold the weight of life, the ache of love and the hush of loss.
It stretches outward, distal, immediate, a presence that is perennial, incessant, constant, boundless, a quiet reminder of everything that is both endless and ephemeral.

Based on her long-standing practice and distinctive use of colour and texture, Louise Knowles’ SKY offers an immersive experience of her abstract vision. The exhibition invites collectors and visitors alike to engage with the emotional and atmospheric qualities of her work, reflecting on the interplay between light, space, and feeling.
SKY will run from September 12th – September 26th at 7D Wandoo Street, Fortitude Valley
