John Mangila

In 2018 I decided to go to art school because I was seduced by the idea of absolute freedom. I had worked various creative jobs- styling, visual merchandising, and floristry. I enjoyed making and being a part of producing beautiful things. But they were always guided and somewhat limited by a brief. Art proposed a way to create purely for the sake of creating. Im interested in the creative act itself and finding poetry in the materials I engage with.
