Hollie McKenzie

Hollie McKenzie’s surreal works seek to hold a mirror somewhat to her own reality, past and present. The artist lens allows vast self observation and McKenzie works meticulously to execute via her daughter as muse. McKenzie is able to process and validate her stance clearly by revealing shards of her own experiences as a woman in a rapidly changing world. Metaphors probing religious iconography and virtual realities are present and repetitive throughout her work, creating a unique, if not confronting dialogue. The work initiates a powerful conversation - the future state of the next generation of women. Hollie has recently been accepted to participate in the Florence Biennale in 2021, after the curators responded to the technical skill and neo-Rococo style of her painting.
