'No.54: A Miscellany' an evocative Solo Exhibition from Ali McNabney-Stevens, a departure from previous works to fully immerse and embrace simplicity and nostalgia in its purest shape and form. Inspired by cherished memories of Ali's grandparents' home in Ireland, this exhibition is a deeply personal and heartfelt tribute to the beauty of simpler times.

The title, 'No.54: A Miscellany', intertwines personal history with artistic expression. No.54 was the address of Ali's grandparents' home, a beloved place of summer shadows, bumble bees, tranquil afternoons flavoured with marmalade sandwiches and high tea moments. The subtitle, 'A Miscellany', echoes the title of a book written by the artist's Papa, circling back and celebrating a life rich with history.

This body of work invites viewers to step into a world where simplicity reigns, offering a serene escape from the complexities of modern life. The palette, significantly from memory, is drawn entirely from a place of intimacy and nostalgia, featuring muted shades of ochres, sepia, moss greens, and soft tones reminiscent of a time gone by.

Each piece in the exhibition embodies Ali's core value of purity and simplicity, serving as a reminder of the grounding and calming effects it can have in our lives. Through abstraction and thoughtful compositions, Ali captures the essence of antiquity, wisdom, and calm, creating a reflective and meditative experience for the viewer.
