Adrian Charles Smith
Adrian Charles Smith is an emerging artist, who works across a variety of media, but is best known for using oil on canvas.
Often working on a large scale, Smith’s work operates in the gap between figuration and abstraction. He often paints moments of the everyday aiming to encapsulate the mundane, and often repetitive occurrences of the unfiltered human experience. Smith contrasts these mundane subjects with bright colours and unusual and complex compositions. He is currently completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Queensland College of Art and in 2018, he was a finalist in the Brett Whiteley Travelling Art Scholarship. Furthermore, in 2017 he was a finalist in the Clayton Utz Art Award.
